I would like to add that 3 out of the 4 women were always actively looking for "the one" to complete them and the one lady who truly enjoyed singlehood was often the butt of unkind jokes.

I think Sex in The City built a false narrative that even though singlehood is fun, you should always be looking for the man. The fact that many single women have the audacity to be happy by themselves makes many people uncomfortable.
