One of the things I have noticed about big companies that fail is it seems the power that be just stop caring. I have heard that Sears was actually not doing that badly at the last turn of the century but at some point the people just wanted to cash in their chips and go. I am not saying that passion is enough to save a dying business but without it you are doomed. Very nice read.
