I think that assigning blame is a highly simplistic way to look at behavior.

There are many women who have been conditioned to never put themselves first and love themselves.

This is particularly true of women who grow up highly patriarchal society. In my culture, many women are not even allowed to choose who they date.

I was fortunate in that I grew up in the United States and was able to have options but I fought for these options.

I should also qualify that I only had two boyfriends before I got married. If I had 10 boyfriends the probability is that I would have been cheated on, no matter what my selection process.

The difference is that I would not blame myself for another person's behavior or bend over backward to accommodate someone who has no respect for me as a human being.
