as NYC is a great place but you have to make some large sacrifices to live there unless you are super-rich, particularly if you live in Manhatten. Many people view moving out for a better quality of life a failure, which is ridiculous.

I am glad you are enjoying your life now. In the end, that is what matters...not what other people think.
